The ferry ride is longer; however, the caldera views are very scenic. Moreover, booking flights early helps avoid high prices during peak months.

Safety in Santorini
Santorini is considered safe, with low crime levels. Even so, you should keep your belongings secure in crowded spots like Oia. The main risks come from steep walkways and cliffside paths. Therefore, wear good shoes, avoid slippery steps at night, and stay away from cliff edges during sunset rush hours.

Climate and Best Time to Visit
Santorini has a Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild winters. The best months to visit are April–June and September–October. Temperatures are comfortable, crowds are lighter, and sunsets are beautiful.
When I visited in September, the caldera breezes kept the heat manageable. Additionally, the evenings were cool enough for long walks. As a result, many travelers prefer the shoulder seasons for better weather and fewer crowds.

Budget and Travel Costs
Santorini can be expensive. Hostels and simple guesthouses start around 50–70 EUR per night. Hotels with caldera views or infinity pools often range from 300–800+ EUR. Meals cost about 10–25 EUR, depending on location.
For transportation, you can use buses, taxis, scooters, or ATVs. Generally, buses are the most affordable and connect major towns across the island. In fact, planning your expenses in advance makes the trip smoother and more enjoyable.

• Imerovigli
A quiet village on the caldera rim. Furthermore, it offers one of the best sunset spots without the crowds.
• Red Beach

• Nea Kameni Volcano
